LORNA BAILEY Old Ellgreave Pottery ‘Inglewood’ Sugar Shaker

£90.00

Pretty Lorna Bailey Old Ellgreave Pottery ‘Inglewood’ pattern sugar shaker. This design was named after a small road in Porthill opposite the Dingle and replaced the House and Path design. As it was only produced between March 1999 and August 1999 many of the pieces are quite rare. Signed and stamped on base.

Lorna Bailey Artware has often been described as the new Clarice Cliff. She produced collectable pottery pieces for over twenty years from 1995 with many early designs incorporating a series of cottages, trees and abstract patterns based on the designs of Clarice Cliff.

Taking inspiration from the Art Deco period, her works range from vases, jugs and sugar shakers to figures and decorative animals.  Two of the most popular patterns are House and Path and Sunburst which were painted by Lorna Bailey and a small team of painters onto a range of shapes, including vases, jugs, teapots, sugar shakers, cruets, candlesticks, and wall pockets. Bailey is arguably most famous for her range of cat designs.
